Job Duties of a Medical Assistant

Becoming a Medical Assistant
Medical assistants need some formal training to begin their careers. The program at Compu-Med can be completed in as little as two semesters, or 45 weeks. You will take courses in anatomy, medical terminology, and physical examinations. Other courses will prepare you to take blood samples, administer medication, and assist with radiology (x-rays).
After you complete the program you can sit for various certification exams in Florida. American Association of Medical Assistants’ Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and the American Medical Technologists’ Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) are the two national certifications you can choose from.
